The main gateway into the Pearl of Africa – Uganda, experienced a tremendous number of international visitors in June 2023, the highest ever-recorded in a single month especially since the outbreak of Covid-19.  A total of over 80,750 passengers arrived into Entebbe in June alone, and over 80,165 passengers departed the country. This therefore translates into a total of 160,915 International passengers.

During an Interview on 19th July, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) spokesperson Mr. Vianney Luggya accentuated the essence of this great achievement, pointing that in June alone, an average of 5363 passengers each day were recorded. This is the highest ever-recorded number since 2019 (before COVID-19) when a total of 5000 passengers per day arrived/departed through Entebbe Airport for the entire year.
