Umubuntu arts festival is annual event that started in 2015. The 9th festival which took place from 14th to 16th July 2023 was a bee-hive of activities as people of all shades immersed themselves in captivating performances by celebrated artists from across the World. The 3-day event was a great opportunity to witness the power of belief as musicians, actors and dancers took the stage which sparked hearts as well as minds with the talent and passion.
“Ubumuntu” is a Kinyarwanda word that means “Being human” and this incorporates the spirit of this Arts Festival hence reminding the people that even in the face of fear, belief can guide them towards a brighter future.
The festival happens annually following the last week of the 100 days commemoration of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
