As per the June-July newsletter, Adventure Consults is excited to report the slow opening of Rwanda’s tourism after a nearly four-month hiatus caused by the global Covid-19 pandemic.
In June, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), which overseas tourism activities in the East African nation, has announced the resumption of tourism activities as well as international arrivals on charter flights.
The latest good news is that Rwanda’s airports will reopen for scheduled commercial flights on 1st August. To ensure the health and safety of passengers, crew and staff, airport operations will adhere to guidelines developed by Ministry of Health and recommendations of the ICAO Aviation Recovery Taskforce.
Adventure Consults’ sales team learned that all passengers (including those in transit) will need to show proof of a COVID-19 PCR negative test from a certified laboratory taken within 72 hours of arriving in Rwanda. For passengers entering Rwanda, a second PCR will be conducted upon arrival with results delivered within 24 hours — during which time will be quarantined at designated hotels at their own cost.
