The Government of the Republic of Uganda passed new directives regarding clearance of tourists and other residents returning to Uganda. As per earlier communication, the directives were to be valid until 31 July 2021 but according to Civil Aviation Authority and Ministry of internal affairs, the same will apply until further notice. This practically means it might be the standard procedure going forward.
- Airlines shall carry only travellers with approved and authorized visas or valid resident facility (entry/work permits, passes or certificate of residence).
- All travellers holding ordinary passports from Countries whose citizens are required to have visas to enter Uganda will be required to apply for visas online prior to travel at visas.immigration.go.ug and will receive an approved notification which they must print and travel with as travel authorization.

When applying for visas, please be extra careful and ensure accurate info is submitted to avoid any delays.
Prior to the above changes, both online system and obtaining visas on arrival at Entebbe international airport have been working CONCURRENTLY.
