The long awaited Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) is almost here! The meeting that was postponed twice due to covid-19 pandemic will take place in Kigali-Rwanda in the week of 20th to 26th June 2022.
The Rwanda government and her people are making final preparations to ensure a safe, secure and productive event.
Common wealth members are Connected by similar traditions, language, governance and legal structures, monarchs, presidents and prime ministers from Africa, the Caribbean and Americas, Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Members meet every 2 years at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), to explore how they can pool their resources and innovations to transform joint challenges into exciting opportunities.
Notably, the last country to join the commonwealth is Rwanda and will the first time for the beautiful East African country to host this important meeting. The republic of Rwanda is so prepared for the historic event that will be attended by their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, Head of the Commonwealth. Further details of the visit of Prince Charles will be announced in due course by Clarence House.
The week of 20th – 26th June 2022 is already looking busy with most hotels in Kigali booked out. At Adventure Consults we are delighted to let all our clients and partners know that safari operations and bookings in general shall not be affected by CHOGM events. There are however might be unavoidable interruptions and last minute changes like rerouting as shall be guided by government.
