How to get to Rwanda.
Kigali International Airport (also known as Kanombe Airport) is the only international airport in Rwanda. Several daily flights connect Kigali with other capitals of the sub-region and intercontinental flights allow passenger traffic between Europe, Middle East and other continents, directly or with a connection.

Domestic airlines and flights in Rwanda.
Rwanda is a small country full of green forest, marshes, hills and lakes from end to end. It’s easy to connect by road from one end to another using Adventure consults’ luxury vehicles. Despite the smooth roads that spread out, some travelers prefer to have a flying experience. The flights at very low altitudes gives some of the most stunning aerial safaris on earth.
We work with Akagera Aviation, the only domestic airline that operates helicopter tours. Combine your Gorilla adventure at Volcanoes National park with an aerial flight connecting from the vast savannahs of Akagera National Park and Nyungwe Rainforest. We organize private Areal tours around Rwanda with views of the towering volcanoes at close ranges.
Our Rwanda flying safaris are strictly on private basis using helicopters. The type of helicopter to use depends on size of group or family.
- Augusta A109S; Twin engine seating a maximum of 6 passengers, weight capacity of 380 Kilograms maximum.
- Augusta A119MKII; Single engine, six seater helicopter, with 380 Kilograms maximum of weight capacity.
- Robinson 44; Single engine 3 seater helicopter with maximum weight of 180 Kilograms. This is the recommended option for aerial photography because of the detachable doors.
All National parks have got landing facilities which are close to most high end lodges/accommodations. Adventure Consults’ vehicles are used for all land transfers/movements in order to ensure flexibility and maintain standards. Rwanda flying safaris greatly cuts down the drive times and hours spent on the roads.
