The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon is one of Uganda’s highly attended events. Every August, for the last 5 years, sports enthusiasts from all corners of the world gather in Kasese town for this international event. This World Athletics Label Road race has got 42km, 21km, and 5km routes available for you to pick from. The run goes through the scenic foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains and crosses the Equator. You can join as a runner, walker, spectator or simply stand on the roadside and hand out refreshments. It’s fun!
The Kasese region is lucky to be neighbouring 4 National parks, which is almost half of Uganda’s major protected areas. These are homes to the Big game, birds, rivers, lakes, mountains, and the great primates – Gorillas and Chimpanzees.
