You don’t need any fashion prequalification to join the Rwanda sewing classes. At Nyamirambo Women Center, guests are introduced to learning about fabrics, sewing materials, and techniques using very basic machines. The exercise is so engaging and entertaining and you listen and share personal stories about culture and history. Among other items you will be taught to make are traditional head wraps, dresses, wrappers, bags, tablecloths, cushions etc. If you are a fast learner, you will probably go with your item – The best Souvenir ever!
You may also take measurements and order for an item of your choice, to be delivered at the hotel within 24 hours.
The Rwanda sewing experience ends with a local lunch (if you participate in the morning session).
